Chipotle’s toast toasted chip chips may have caused deaths

Chipotle Mexican Grill is investigating the death of a man who died from a heart attack during a baked tortilla chip snack at a Chipotle restaurant in San Antonio, Texas, police said.

The incident happened on Saturday in the area of South Lamar Boulevard and W. Broadway, police spokesman Officer Alvaro Morales said in a statement.

A witness reported hearing several pops and saw a man fall from a second-story window, Morales said.

A man who was in the parking lot, who was not identified, called 911 and told dispatchers that the man had been eating chips, Morales added.

Police found the man lying face down in the road with a head injury, Morales told reporters.

He was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Police believe the man, who lived in the neighborhood, ate at the Chipotle and then was sitting in his car in the early morning hours, Morales, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said.

He did not know what type of chip chips he ate.
