The Kerala government is selling churris, popcorn chips and chorizo chips for Rs. 3,000 each.
The new products are manufactured in China by China-based Dalian Wuhan Foods, which is currently undergoing an internal review after the food company was accused of cheating the government out of subsidies.
The products are being made in India to meet the demand for their cheap and plentiful taste, as per the government.
The government, in a notification issued on Wednesday, said that the government has also set up a committee to probe the matter.
“The Committee has already examined all the facts and has recommended to the government to take appropriate action,” it said.
